PARIS (FRA): AFP has reported that former IAAF President Lamine Diack and his son Papa Massata Diack are to stand trial in France on charges of corruption and money laundering. After standing down in 2015, Diack and his son have been accused of obstructing sanctions against Russia for doping in return for payments among other allegations including the accusation of accepting cash to help influence the decisions to award the 2016 Olympics to Rio de Janeiro and 2020 to Tokyo. Insidethegames.biz also reports that Diack, who has been under house arrest since November 2015, could be sentenced to more than 10 years in jail.
