TALENCE (FRA): World champions Nafissatou Thiam and Kevin Mayer will make their combined events debut this weekend at the Talence Decastar (IAAF CE Challenge). Thiam is part of an excellent heptathlon line-up which also includes world bronze medallist Anouk Vetter, world indoor pentathlon bronze medallist Yorgelis Rodriguez and former world bronze medallist Laura Ikauniece from Latvia who finished second in Gotzis in May. European indoor pentathlon bronze medallist Solene Ndama contests her first heptathlon of the season and former two-time European champion Antoniette Nana Djimou returns from injury. On the men’s side, Kevin Mayer returns to the site of his world record which he set last September. Mayer is joined by European bronze medallist Vitaliy Zhuk from Belarus, Belgium’s former European champion Thomas Van Der Plaetsen and former European indoor champion Ilya Shkurenyov.
