SOPOT (POL, Jun 23): In his first competition in nearly one year, Qatar’s Mutaz Essa Barshim returned with victory in Sopot with a second-time clearance at 2.27m before attempting 2.30m and 2.33m. Michal Haratyk won the shot put with 21.12m and Marcin Krukowski won the javelin with 82.33m from Belarus’ Pavel Mialeshka (80.46m). On the track, Cuba’s Rose Mary Almanza went under two minutes for 800m, winning in 1:59.90 from Spain’s Esther Guerrero (2:00.87) and Canada’s Brendon Rodney won the 200m in 20.53. Anna Kielbasinska won the 400m in 51.79 (also won the 200m in 24.00) and USA’s Myles Pringle won the men’s 400m in 45.81.
