Genzebe Dibaba began her season in 2019 on 6 February in Sabadell, Spain, with a 1,500m. She ran 3:59.08. On the 10 February, Genzebe ran a 1000m in 2:37.40 in Lieven, France.
Genzebe Dibaba will be running the 3000m distance at Stanford. In previous Pre Classics, Genezebe has run 5000m. This is a departure for the seven time World record holder.

Genzebe Dibaba opened outdoors ornr 3 May in Doha with a tough loss to Hellen Obiri, at 3000m in 8:26.20.
Recently, Genzebe ran 3:56.28 at the Golden Gala in Rome, 6 June, taking the win!
On 16 June, in Rabat, Morocco, Geneze Dibaba, pushed by Laura Muir, 3:55.28 to 3:55.78!
