LOS ANGELES (USA): World junior 4000m hurdles record-holder Sydney McLaughlin is to be coached by 2004 Olympic sprint hurdles champion Joanna Hayes. According to njmilesplit.com, the switch was confirmed by Mary McLaughlin, the mother of the American athlete, who parted company with previous coach Edrick Floreal in July. Hayes is a volunteer assistant coach at the University of South Carolina. This year’s world No.1 hurdler with 52.75 will contest her first professional season in 2019 following an early end to 2018 with the NCAA title.
