CHICAGO (USA): Twice Chicago Marathon winner Florence Kiplagat is looking ahead positively to her comeback race in Sunday. The winner in 2015 and 2016, who ran her PB of 2:19:44 in Berlin 2011, said at the official press conference: “I am injury-free now and looking forward to Sunday.” Her agent Valentijn Trouw told Letsrun: “Once we were convinced [about her fitness], we spoke to Chicago but we did not want to force things if we were not sure she could be competitive. She did a combination of long runs and speed work that convinced her that okay, I’m coming towards a level that I can be competitive. She knows what it takes to be competitive.”
