Kiprop 59:41 and Kipyokei 67:17
USTI NAD LABEM (CZE, Sep 15): Kenyans triumphed at the Mattoni Half-marathon in Usti Nad Labem. The men’s race saw an improvement of more than three minutes for new Run Czech Racing star Stephen Kiprop, who clocked 59:41 in windy and warm conditions after taking control in the 12th kilometre. Barselius Kipyogo (60:25) and Abel Kipchumba (60:39) completed a Kenyan 1-2-3. First European, in 16th, was Czech Jiri Homolac in 65:12. Diana Chemtai Kipyokei equalled the course record with 67:17. The athlete who was third in the Birrell 10km in Prague last weekend beat Nancy Kiprop by 15 seconds (67:32) as Lucy Cheruiyot made it another podium sweep with a time of 69:52. In sixth, Lilia Fiscovici was first European, setting a Moldovan record of 70:45. USA’s Sara Hall was notable in ninth in 72:36.
