The RNR Las Vegas Marathon and Half Marathon has been one of the most popular of the RNR events. Established in 1998, RNR series, now under ownership of Wanda Group and Ironman, is announcing some innovations this year. It is important to evolve events and approaches to bring in new runners. NEW COURSE AND START LINE FESTIVAL LOCATION ANNOUNCED FOR ROCK ‘N’ ROLL LAS VEGAS MARATHON & ½ MARATHON
– Annual race announces new start line and course aspects ahead of 2018 event
– New course adds more mileage on the Las Vegas Strip than ever before
– Headliner concert returns to race day on November 11
TAMPA, Fla./LAS VEGAS, Nev. (June 21, 2018) – The Rock ‘n’ Roll Marathon Series® announced today an all-new course for the 2018 Rock ‘n’ Roll® Las Vegas Marathon & ½ Marathon which will be held on November 11, 2018. Beginning with an all new start line, the marathon and half marathon will commence in the heart of Las Vegas Blvd. near MGM Grand Las Vegas maintaining the 4:30 p.m. start time. The brand-new start line festival for runners and spectators will be built inside a lot on Harmon Ave. one block east of Planet Hollywood, and the Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series returns to its historical time before the marathon and half marathon.
The course will continue to give participants a one-of-a-kind nighttime running experience by taking them down closed lanes of Las Vegas Blvd. and past iconic Vegas sights. From the new start line, the course will go south and around the ‘Welcome to Las Vegas’ sign then go north past the Bellagio Fountains, up to Fremont St. and through downtown Las Vegas before finishing in front of the Mirage Hotel & Casino as in years past.
The 10K will begin at 4:00 p.m. at its familiar location on Las Vegas Blvd., outside the Las Vegas Festival Grounds and finishing at the same location as the marathon and half marathon.

In what has been a truly global event unlike any other, runners from all 50 states and over 70 countries have converged to experience the only private event to close the Las Vegas Boulevard at night. With a renewed focus on the core pillars of Bringing Fun to the Runâ„¢ with great music in a community environment, runners of all athletic levels will be treated to more music, live bands and entertainment on course as well as new and improved aid stations.
The running will start on Saturday night with the Rock ‘n’ Roll Las Vegas 5K presented by Brooks and continue Sunday evening with the marathon, half marathon and 10K distances. Runners can choose to participate in the “Remix Challenge” and earn a bonus third medal by running in both the 5K on Saturday and any distance on Sunday.
Race weekend also features the Toyota Rock ‘n’ Roll Concert Series with past headliners in Las Vegas including The Goo Goo Dolls, Kid Rock, All-American Rejects and Macklemore & Ryan Lewis. In addition to the headliner concert, 20+ live bands and DJs spanning all genres will perform along the race courses entertaining and encouraging runners with more music than ever as they make their way to the finish line. Race weekend kicks off with a Health & Fitness Expo on Thursday, Nov. 8 from 3:00 p.m. – 6:00 p.m., Friday, Nov. 9 from 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 a.m. and Saturday, Nov. 10 from 9:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. at the Las Vegas Convention Center. The expo will showcase vendors featuring the latest in running gear, nutrition and training and is free and open to the public.
