Held in the lovely Fairmont Hotel in Monte Carlo, Monaco, the Monaco presser is hosted by Jean-Pierre SCHOEBEL, Director of the Meeting Herculis EBS. Jean-Pierre is fluent in French and English and knows the sport. His questions provide the media with great insights into the star athletes. What I enjoy about the pressers are the combinations. This year, there was Katerina Stefanidi and Sandi Morris, Shaunae Miller-Uibo and Salwa Eid Naser, plus pressers with the top French athletes. As most of the fans at the Stade Louis are French citizens, the French athletes are a huge draw.

The Monaco diamond league meet is the favorite meet of many of the entire summer. This year, with Monaco one day, and the London DL the very next, I found that a bit sad. Again, the calendar of our sport screws with what could be and should be a schedule with meets held once a week. Until the IAAF realizes that a consistent schedule is harming us with sponsors, fans and performances, it will not change.
