BIRMINGHAM (GBR): Great Britain has named 102 athletes for the European Championships in Berlin. Dina Asher-Smith, who will go in the 100m and 4x100m, in addition to the 200m she won in Amsterdam, and Martyn Rooney, who won the one lap two years ago and goes also in the relay here, are the only two defending champions. World No.1 Lorraine Ugen (long jump) and European leaders Matthew Hudson-Smith (400m) and Zharnel Hughes (100m) are also on the squad. Laura Muir, who was initially due to compete over both 800m and 1500m, will now focus on the latter, at which she leads the European rankings, after irritating her Achilles last weekend. Of the six marathoners selected in April, Alyson Dixon has pulled out with injury.
