MONACO (MON): World and Olympic 3000m steeplechase champion Conseslus Kipruto is to attack the world record of 7:53.63 in the Monaco Diamond League on 20 July, informs AFP. “This year has been so good for me. It’s every athlete’s dream to stay injury-free and God has been good to me. I have four more weeks to prepare for the world record attempt in Monaco. It will be great to bring the 3000m steeplechase record back to Kenya,” he said. The world record has stood to Saif Saaeed Shaheen since 2004.
