Talay 12.41 fastest European time since 1992
ST. POLTEN (AUT, May 31): Belarus European indoor champion Alina Talay impressed in the 100 m hurdles at the 11th Liese Prokop Memorial meet. First she clocked European lead in heats with 12.61 (+0.1) and then improved to superb 12.41 national record and European lead in the finals (+0.5). Second European champion Cindy Roleder 12.89 and third Hungarian U23 record holder Luca Kozak 13.02. Talay´s mark is fastest by an European since 1992. In the 100 m Austrian Alexandra Toth improved to Berlin standard 11.47 (+1.1) ahead of German Alexandra Burghardt 11.52. In the men´s 100 m Czech Zdenek Stromsik won in 10.31 (0.0) over Slovak record holder Jan Volko 10.33 and Briton John Otugade 10.37. All three were faster in heats, Volko 10.27 (+1.4) and Stromsik 10.29 (+1.0) over Otugade 10.30 as both equaled their PB´s. Hungarian Robert Szikszai won discus with 62.14.
