The Brooks PR Invitational has evolved over the years. The meet began as an indoor meeting, and the idea was simple: bring together some of the finest high school track & field athletes, and let them run fast, very fast. The meet was held at the end of the indoor season. Then, the meeting moved outdoors. Now, in 2018, a new ranking program for high school teams provides a unique approach, as over 1500 school teams and 150,000 athletes are involved! A great idea!
Brooks Running Announces New Dates for Prestigious PR Invitational
Brooks Running Company will host the annual PR Invitational this year on June 8 at the Shoreline Stadium in Seattle. New this year, the meet will take on a twilight format with events starting at 4 p.m. Pacific Time.
The PR Invitational will showcase the fastest high school athletes from across the country in events from the 100-meter dash to the 2-mile run. In addition to the high school races that will determine who is the fastest of the fastest, this year’s meet will include professional races headlined by the Brooks Beasts and other professional runners.
RunnerSpace.com will live broadcast this year’s invitational. Brooks hosts the PR Invitational as part of its investment into the sport of running. Brooks also supports running at the high school level through the Inspiring Coach of the Year Award, which recognizes coaches who create meaningful change in their communities, and the Brooks Booster Clubs, which supports underfunded high school track and cross country teams.
