Mo Farah just ran his second marathon. Under the watchful eye of Gary Lough, Mo Farah prepared for his second marathon, and tried some things, in training, that he was not used to doing. The short recoveries in the workouts were a bit uncomfortable. Truth is, Gary Lough is a student of the sport. He is also a fine coach, and a former athlete, who ran a 3:34 for 1,500 meters. Also, and most importantly, Gary Lough worked with his wife, Paula Radclifffe, on her training as a track athlete, cross country athlete and finally, as a marathoner.
Mo Farah did a fine job on Sunday, April 22, 2018. Yes, he had some issues getting the right drinks, but, he will get it better. It is something that can be fixed. Mo also went through the halfway at 61 minutes, and had to battle for much of the second race, by himself. That was one painful 1:05:32 second half of the marathon, but, Mo Farah did well.
He looked the most relaxed we have witnessed in a presser afterwards as well. It was a hard effort, and, much to the delight of the British fans, Mo Farah’s move to the marathon is going well, thank you. London Marathon’s investment in Mo Farah a few years ago was one of the finest investments that the race has ever made.
