J. Robertson 27:28 in New Orleans
NEW ORLEANS (USA, Apr 1): New Zealand’s Jake Robertson defended his title in the Crescent City Classic 10K in New Orleans in 27:28, equalling his twin brother Zane’s national and Oceanian record at the distance. Robertson took a gun-to-tape win ahead of Kenyans John Muriti (28:14) and Edwin Soi (28:18). Reid Buchanan was the top American in fourth in 28:56 while Bernard Lagat finished seventh in 30:23. Kenya’s Monicah Ngige won the women’s race in 32:05 ahead of teammate Ivene Chepkemoi (32:27) with top Ethiopian steeplechaser Hiwot Ayalew third in 32:31. Sarah Pagano was the leading American finisher in fifth in 33:06.
