GOLD COAST (AUS): Sally Pearson has revealed she has been struggling with an Achilles injury in the build-up to the Commonwealth Games in Gold Coast, informs the Courier Mail. “All athletes have niggling injury issues they have to face and I am no different. This is not a career ending injury but the timing is extremely disappointing. Australia can rest assured I will be certainly working hard to overcome what is just another challenge in my career,” she said. Pearson ran the first leg of the 4x100m at the Queensland International Track Classic in Brisbane, leading Australia off to a 43.76 clocking.
