GOLD COAST (AUS): Dai Greene, the 2011 400m hurdles World champion, says retirement was never an option as he battled to come back from complications which followed a hernia operation in 2013. The Welshman, who will in the Commonwealth Games contest his first international championships since 2014, told BBC Sport: “I don’t want to fizzle out. I have just as much appetite to train and work hard and be better as I did 10 years ago. It never occurred to me to pack it in.”
