GAINESVILLE (USA, Mar 30): Sydney McLaughlin continued with superb running at Florida Relays. After 200 m PB on Thursday she clocked another top life-time best 50.07 in the 400 m. It is also World lead and 6th all-time U20 performer. Second Sharrika Barnett 50.93 PB ahead of Brionna Thomas 51.72. Hurdles olympic winner Omar McLeod clocked 10.32 (+0.2) in the 100 m. In the 200 m South African Ncincilili Titi 20.36 (+0.9) over Terrance Laird 20.41 and Riak Reese 20.43. NCAA Champion Grant Holloway won the 110 m hurdles in 13.45 (+0.7). Also Nathan Strother won the 400 m in 45.46. In women hurdles Puertorican Jasmine Camacho-Quinn 12.77 (-0.8), Ce´aira Brown won the 1500 m in 4:09.44 and Ka´Tia Seymour the 200 m in 22.96 (+0.5). Indoor surprise Javianne Oliver won the 100 m in 11.39 (+1.1) ahead of Jamaican veteran Kerron Stewart 11.41. Mexican Diego del Real won men hammer with 75.33. In the High School 100 m fast 10.16 (+1.7) for Anthony Schwartz, he missed his PB from last year only by 0.01.
RunBlogRun opines: Sydney McLaughlin is the WJR for the 400 meter hurdles. Coach Floreal is taking a long term approach in developing this amazing athlete, as she continues to score great PBs at 200 meters and 400 meters. Her 400 meter hurdles will be even better as she develops her leg speed and her hurdling skills. So happy to watch Sydney develop and seem to enjoy her running. She is working with a fantastic coach and program. It is important for athletes to find programs and coaches that work for them, wherever they are.
