Drew Windle, 800 meters, silver medalist, Birmingham, photo by PhotoRun.net
Drew Windle ran a near perfect race in the US Indoor Championships. Less than two weeks later, Drew Windle, with support from his training partners in the Brooks Beast TC, his coach, Danny Mackey and his family, ran the race of his life. In a very physical final, Drew Windle stayed out of trouble and ran down the medals, taking the silver medal. Well, for nearly 90 minutes the young American was DQed, but as Drew noted, thanks to his coach, and USATF, who argued his cause with the Jury of Appeals, he was reinstated.
