Vivian Cheruyiot for NYC Half
NEW YORK (USA): Olympic 5000m champion Vivian Cheruiyot will compete in the New York Half Marathon on 18 March in the build-up to the London Marathon, informs NYRR. Cheruiyot is the third fastest in the field with a 67:44 PB behind Ethiopians Mamitu Daska (66:28 PB) and Buze Diriba (66:50 PB). Other notable entrants include fellow Kenyans Caroline Rotich (68:52 PB) and Betsy Saina (69:17 PB), Norway’s Karoline Grovdal (69:41 PB), Mexico’s Madai Perez (69:45 PB) and top Americans Emily Sisson (68:21 PB), Aliphine Tuliamuk (69:16 PB) and Desiree Linden (70:34 PB). The elite men’s field is headed by Kenya’s Wilson Chebet (59:15 PB), top American Dathan Ritzenhein (60:00 PB) and Ethiopia’s Teshome Mekonen (60:27 PB).
