Yimer was a whiz over 10,000 meters and his entree into the road racing world was at the top of the food chain. The Kenyan team and now the Ethiopian team have put together serious teams for Valencia. This World Champs Half Marathon is pretty impressive, looking forward to seeing other teams!

ADDIS ABABA (ETH): Ethiopia’s team for the IAAF/Trinidad Alfonso World Half Marathon Championships Valencia 2018 will include the country’s top-ranked athletes for 2018, Jemal Yimer and Ruti Aga. Yimer debuted at the distance in Ras Al-Khaimah last week with a quality 59:00 and will be joined by Getaneh Molla, Betesfa Getahun, Dawit Fikadu and Jiksa Tadesse. Aga won the Houston Half-marathon in 66:39 in January and was second in the 2017 Berlin Marathon with 2:20:41. The women’s team is completed by Zeineba Yimer, Meseret Belete, Bekelech Gudeta and Zinash Mekonnen.
