This is Nike Talks World Indoors 2018: Week 4, Day 1. Here is our US athlete for the week! We are writing about the Nike athletes who are planning on competing in Birmingham, March 1-4, 2018. For Monday, our focus is Jasmin Stowers. For more on the World Indoors 2018, please go to www.wicbirmingham2018.com. We thank Nike for sponsoring this three month long program!
I have observed Jasmin Stowers for several years now. Jasmin Stowers is one of our finest hurdlers in the country. But, being one of the top 100 meter and, of course indoors, 60 meter hurdlers in the U.S. means that you are competing in perhaps the toughest event in American Track & Field.

Jasmin Stowers has finished second in the NCAA 100m hurdles in 2014. That year, she also finished 4th in the US Outdoor champs. She also ran 12.35 over the 100 meter hurdles.

Jasmin Stowers went pro in 2014, represented by Global Athletics & Marketing’s Mark Wetmore. Running for Nike, Jasmin Stowers continues to work with Coach Dennis Shaver, at LSU. Shaver is working on Stowers’ start in 2018, to help make her more competitive and get into medal contention.
The key for Jasmin, who has run 7.82A at altitude, has run some fine times. In May 2017, Stowers ran 12.35 for the 100m hurdles. In 2015,2016 and 2017, Jasmin finished fifth, eighth and eighth in US championships.
Here is where the hurdles get tough. Any mistake takes you down a notch in the highly competitive US championships. The 60 meter hurdles is a tough event, and Jasmin Stowers wants to make the US team in 2018. Her goals, from an IAAF interview, for 2018 are medaling in Birmingham 2018 and winning the diamond league.
Jasmin Stowers has the tools. She has the finish. In the 60 meter hurdles, Jasmin Stowers has to call in all of her experience and training, and get in a good start and battle, one hurdle at a time. Jasmin has done this before. She won the 100m hurdles at the adidas Boston Boost Games last June 2017.
We look forward to seeing Jasmin Stowers in Albuquerque, New Mexico for the 60 meter hurdles. She needs to make the top two there, and then, off to the World Championships in Birmingham, March 1-4, 2018.
We wish Jasmin Stowers the best of luck in achieving her dreams in 2018.
