Two of the most popular brand ambassadors on the road running expo circuit are Meb Keflezighi (2004 Olympic silver medalist, 2009 NYC champ, 2014 Boston champ) and Kara Goucher (2007 WC silver medalist, 10,000m, 2 time Olympian). Both represent Skechers Performance. Skechers Performance is the footwear and apparel sponsor for the Chevron Houston Marathon and Half Marathon.
The weekend is fun. Houston has a 5k, Half Marathon and Marathon, and about 40,000 competitors. One of the first big races of the year, Houston Marathon has been around since 1971. What is fascinating is how both the marathon and half marathon have developed reputations for being fast races and great courses. We will write about the half marathon and marathons later this week!
If you are going to be at the expo, go by the Skechers booth and say hello to Meb (who will there on Friday) and Kara (who will be there on Saturday).
