HOUSTON (USA): Olympic marathon silver medallist Feyisa Lilesa of Ethiopia will compete at the Aramco Houston Half-marathon on Sunday. The course record-holder (59:22) will face Kenya’s Alex Korio, ninth fastest ever at the distance at 58:51. After his 2:03:46 record debut in Berlin, Ethiopia’s Guye Adola should also challenge. Ethiopia’s Jemal Yimer, who was fourth over 10,000m at the 2017 World Championships, and twice world track champion Bernard Lagat of USA also compete. Kenya’s Mary Wacera returns having set the course record of 66:29 in 2016, just two months before taking World Half bronze. Fellow Kenyan Edith Chelimo, who won with 65:52 in Cardiff in October, and Bahrain’s Eunice Chumba, who ran 66:11 in September should challenge. Molly Huddle and Jordan Hasay could threaten the US record of 67:34. Kenya’s 2015 world marathon silver medallist Helah Kirop, 2015 London Marathon winner Tigist Tufa of Ethiopia and and USA’s Serena Burla, the 2014 Houston Half winner, are also lining up.
