CC back to Olympics
SEVILLA (ESP): IAAF President Sebastian Coe who participated in the open race at Italica Cross Country on Sunday said for Spanish media that he is “trying to get the cross country back into the Olympic program”. He also mentioned Olympic Games 2024 in Paris as good opportunity as it was last time held in the Olympic Games 1924 also in Paris. IAAF President clocked in the open race 33:05 at 6.825 km in masters category (position 334). Considering his age, work-load and travelling a brave effort.
RunBlogRun opines: Seb Coe is the most traveled IAAF President and Seb gets it. The cross country initiative makes a ton of sense and 2024 Paris could make alot of sense. Most media in past on cross country suggested a Winter Olympic time frame, as Winter Olympics wanted to have more participation by non Winter sport countries. For Coe, this will not be a walk in the park, but much different than dealing with the Russian crisis.
