Here is part two on the A Day in Life series with Ashton Eaton and now, Brianne Theisen Eaton, courtesy of the IAAF.
In a battle in Lushniki Stadium for two straight days, Ashton Eaton took on all challengers, and won the decathlon the old fashioned way: he battled for every point, in each event. His weakest event, was the high jump, which he had not practiced due to an injury earlier in the season.
The video below, is A Day in the Life, part deux, prepared for the IAAF by the Shoe Addicts, our digital partners. Ashton Eaton has now won gold in the World Championships and Olympic games. Ashton Eaton will destroy the world record, once again.
And a quick nod of the cap to Coach Harry Marra, one of the best guys in the sport. Marra loves his athletes, and his athletes love him. It is fitting that such a good guy with such great athletes, get a bit of praise. The coach worries every day. ” My job is minimize the injuries” Harry Marra told the assembled media this past April. Well, he is right about that.
And now, for two days, the newly crowned gold medalist watches his new bride, Brianne Theisen-Eaton, as she battles in the heptathlon.
