Kara Goucher is one of my favorite people. I met her in 2007, when she won her medal at the 10,000 meters in Osaka. She ran the race of her life there, and track fans, and the media fell in love with her. Her move to the roads, and her subsequent marathon finishes impressed many.
But, for Kara Goucher, it was, and is, her ability to communicate to the running community, and her authenticity as an athlete that resonates with runners today.
This picture is from the Kara Goucher Podiusm Retreat. I believe that there are 72 women at this retreat, and it sure looks like a lot of fun. We hope to interview Kara afterwards to learn more about her event!
