Jepkosgei aims for marathon
NAIROBI (KEN): World half marathon record holder Joyciline Jepkosgei plans to run again in Valencia at the World HM Championships next March (24). “It will be a great honour for me to return to Valencia not only for another victory but another world record,” said a confident Jepkosgei upon arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport Tuesday to a heroic reception from family members and friends. After that Jepkosgei said she would scale to the full marathon late next year or in 2019 with a view to representing Kenya in the marathon at the 2019 World Championships in Doha and 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. “I believe with good training I will manage,” said Jepkosgei, who dedicated her performance to her coach, parents and training mates in Iten and Ngong.
