Haile has no global plans
ADDIS ABABA (ETH): Having been president of the Ethiopian Athletics Federation (EAF) for just over a year, Haile Gebrselassie has described breaking records as “hundred times easier” than being at the helm of EAF, informs AIPS. “I found that breaking records is hundred times easier than leadership. This is because when you are running it is up to you, to your speed, endurance and tactics. But when you come to leadership, you have to listen to others, respect their opinions and most importantly win their trust to bring them along with your ideas to make the difference you wish,” he said. Gebrselassie added that he doesn’t harbour any intentions to assume the leadership at either continental or global level. “My leadership goal is only serving my country,” he said.
