Thomas Rohler wanted to get a good throw in for the early season. Thomas Rohler might have been hoping for a good throw around 85 meters, but he crushed it. In his fourth throw, Thomas just let it fly, over 90 meters, close to 95 meters, exactly 93.90 meters. Watch the video and note that the camera man had a bit of a scare with that throw as well!
Thomas told the media afterwards” ” I did not see that coming. I did not expect that in the first start of the season! I’m second best, ever. It will take some time to realize that. We go for the competition to win and if its like this compeititon it is fun! It was an amazing competition for all of us! We had a good training camp this year. It was early, so we did a lot of fast training on the grass. We stayed on the same track we used which was helpful in training!”
Thomas Rohler, the 2016 Rio Olympic champion, now has the second longest throw in javelin history under his belt as well. Where will 2017 take Thomas Rohler?
