Olivier Gers is the new CEO of the IAAF. RunBlogRun met with Mr. Gers on the 4 May, to ask Olivier to speak to our readers about his vision of the sport. Olivier worked with IMG Digital as well as Publicis. His background in media and global business will, I believe, help the IAAF as it evolves both the how the sport is viewed and the brand is respected. Olivier is upbeat, a quick learner and is enjoying the athletes and our events. Mr. Gers realizes that providing the stories and celebrating the rivalries through social media is one of the many ways to strengthen the IAAF brand. Where will the sport go? How to control the narrative of the IAAF? How to answer the challenges to the sport? Olivier Gers has great enthusiasm and ideas. We look forward to the future of our sport under CEO Olivier Gers.
