Prefontaine women 100 m
EUGENE (USA): US champion English Gardner and Olympic long jump champion Tianna Bartoletta will lead the women’s 100m field at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene, Oregon, on 27 May, the third stop of the 2017 IAAF Diamond League series. Jamaica’s Veronica Campbell-Brown will return to the Pre Classic, others in the field include Michelle-Lee Ahye, Murielle Ahoure of Ivory Coast and Jamaican Simone Facey. Other US sprinters in the field include Morolake Akinosun and Dezerea Bryant.
RunBlogRun opines: The Pre Classic is one of my favorite meets to attend each year. I have been going for over thirty years (missed 2013). The sprints are amazing, and the weather gods are good as well. English Gardner loves the track, because, Eugene is part of her home, as a former Duck, and she is a quite exciting sprinter to watch. English is also a fun interview, as the past stories by David Hunter.
