Ruth Jebet and Caster Semenya, photo by Larry Eder
On Thursday, May 4, 2017 at the IAAF Press Points for Doha, we were able to interview Ruth Jebet and Caster Semenya. Ruth Jebet is the reigning Olympic champion and WR holder in the steeplechase. Caster Semenya is the Olympic champion, World Champion and leading performer at 800 meters.
Caster Semenya was confident and talkative. Ruth Jebet was very quiet, and did not seem confident in her English, but tried to answer questions as best as she could.
From the presser, Caster is focused on the 800 meters over the next few weeks, and will then, look at trying a 1,500 meters this season as well. I did the interview as a Facebook Live file and have embedded it below.
