This is my video on why I loved the 2016 adidas Boost Boston Event. We encourage all to come to the 2017 version. Here’s info on the two days of 2017 adidas Boost Boston events:
Website: www.adidasBoostBoston.com. Entry lists available under EVENTS. Press releases, including information on the adidas Dream Mile participants, are available under NEWS. Check back daily for the latest information.
Time and Location: Dilboy Stadium, 110 Alewife Brook Parkway, Somerville. 5 p.m.-8:15 p.m. Snacks will be provided, and you’re invited to grab something at the post-race barbecue.
“Street Meet”: The Sunday session of the adidas Boost Boston Games will be a “street meet,” on a certified, record-eligible 200-meter Mondo track-50 meters longer than last year-erected on Charles Street between the Public Garden and Boston Common. The Sunday session is from 3:15 p.m.-6 p.m and will be broadcast live on NBCSN from 4 p.m.-6 p.m.
Events Contested on Friday: 400 meters and up. The Sunday “street meet” will feature the 100m, 150m, 200m, hurdles, pole vault and long jump.
In 2016, adidas wanted to shake up how track & field was presented. So, they teamed up with Global Athletics & Marketing in Boston and debuted a two day meeting called the adidas Boost Boston. The meet was something old and something new. The traditional meet, held at Dilboy High School finished with a BBQ. That night, the Global team had to manufacture a 150 meter track on Charles Street next the Boston Commons. The meet was a strong success, to both athletes and fans. And it is back!
RunBlogRun visites 35-40 events every year, around the world. We focus on providing live coverage of events and the sport for you, our readers. We loved the adidas Boost Boston. We also knew that there were the typical issues with a new event, and in the second year, the adidas Boost Boston Games, to be held on June 2 and June 4, 2017. We will be there once again!
In this Conversations with Larry, presented by RunBlogRun, I cover why I love the adidas Boost Boston Games. I am allowed two minutes to communicate my idea. Tell me how we did! Reach me at RunBlogRun@gmail.com.
