Four World leads 2017
BAIE MAHAULT (FRA, May 17): The traditional elite meet in Guadeloupe registered in total 4 World leads 2017. At Meeting Pro Athlé (French series) World Indoor champion Yulimar Rojas got the top mark of the year in triple 14.67 (+1.2). Jamaicans followed Kimberly Williams 14.35 (+1.4) and Shanieka Thomas 14.13 (-0.3). 2012 Olympic winner Brittney Reese leaped to long jump WL 698 (-0.2) ahead of British European indoor medalist Lorraine Ugen 676 (+0.4). Also third WL in jumping event, Will Claye of USA 17.40 (+0.5) in men triple what actually equaled the top mark of Cuban Andy Diaz. Behind him Chris Benard 17.15 (-0.2) with 2008 Olympic winner Nelson Evora fourth 16.77 (-0.1). Fourth WL in women 400 m hurdles when Kori Carter in 54.53 beat Jamaican Ristananna Tracey 54.56 and US Jaide Stepter 54.96. Olympic winner Ryan Crouser was clearly on top in shot put 21.79 one meter ahead of Jamaican O´Dayne Richards and Chukwu Enekwechi 20.67 PB. In sprints Mike Rodgers in 10.08 (-0.2) beat Canadian Andre De Grasse 10.10. LaShawn Merritt was the best in the 400 m 44.99 with Paul Dedewo second 45.14 PB. Also fast Aleec Harris 13.18 (0.0) and Sharika Nelvis 12.58 (-0.1) in the hurdles. Jenna Prandini scored a double with 11.25 (-0.4) and 22.70 (0.0) wins. In middle distances Andrew Bayer won steeple 8:28.89 and Cuban Rose Mary Almanza 800 m in 2:00.26. St. Lucia´s Levern Spencer was the best in women high jump 192.
