The Doha Diamond League meeting is in the midst of changes. Among those changes was a shake up in how to do the main press event, which had become stuffier and stuffier with each growing year. This year, only one speech was made by Qatar Federation and one speech by IAAF (Olivier Gers).
Christian Taylor, Michelle Carter, and company leaving the stage, post event
This year, Christian Taylor and Michelle Carter, both Olympic gold medalists, were given the emcee jobs, which they did quite well. Mutaz Barshim, Elaine Thompson, Dafne Schippers and Thomas Rohler were the athletes who were asked questions by Taylor, Carter and the assembled media. The turnout of media and just plan curious was excellent.
Here is the video from the presser, and I hope you enjoy it. I asked all a question, What if the IAAF said, you have to change events in Doha, what event would you do?
