Owaves App Launches Expert Marketplace for Daily Olympic Routines
Owaves, the day planner for health, announces the launch of its Expert Marketplace available through iTunes for iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. Users can download the daily routine of an Olympic silver medalist, 8X USA national track and field champion, and others all with the goal of helping you plan 2017 with inspiration and guidance from world-class health and fitness experts.
Owaves has over 200,000 downloads in 115 countries with over 5 million healthy activities scheduled on the platform, since launching the iPhone app in spring of 2015. “Our customers are asking for guidance on how to build a healthy day, so we recruited top-notch experts to help them,” said Owaves’ CEO, licensed physician Royan Kamyar, M.D., MBA.
Before winning a gold medal last summer in Rio as a guide for the Paralympics, Michellie Jones won a silver medal for Australia in the 2000 Summer Olympics and an Ironman World Championship in 2006. As an Ironman Certified Coach, she is especially well-qualified to provide day plans for novice triathletes. “Long-term success in endurance sports, and probably any field, requires harmony with your body’s clock. With Owaves, I’m able to go one step beyond providing simple recipes, workout tips and recovery techniques to my clients. I can show them how to fit everything into a single 24-hour day. That’s a key challenge in today’s busy world.”
Khadevis Robinson is a 2X USA track and field Olympian and eight-time national champion. Now a division I collegiate coach and mentor for future Olympians, Khadevis focuses on maintaining his athletic physiology while balancing the daily demands of work and family. “Owaves is not just about health. It’s also about productivity and relationships. My focus on the app is to help clients thrive mentally, emotionally and physically. Because these parts of our life all need attention and we only have 24 hours in a day.”
Owaves’ creation is inspired by Royan’s medical training in downtown Manhattan, juggling 80 hour workweeks while seeking to practice the healthy lifestyle he was prescribing to patients. Based in Encinitas, California, the company includes experts from the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, UC San Diego’s Center for Circadian Biology and UCSD’s Center for Mindfulness.
