Rollins banned for 1 year
MIAMI (USA): Olympic 100m hurdles champion Brianna Rollins has been suspended for one year for missing three drug tests in the space of twelve months. Rollins is banned until 18 December and will therefore miss the entirety of the season, including the World Championships. One of her missed tests came on the same day she travelled to Washington to meet Barack Obama. “It is with my deepest regrets that I have to miss the 2017 outdoor season. I accept full responsibility for the mistakes that led to my suspension, and I am disappointed that I will have to miss this coming outdoor season, as a result of my confusion over how the whereabouts system worked,” said Rollins.
RunBlogRun opines: Sometimes people just do dumb things. Missing three drug tests in one year is a no-no. USADA and WADA are just not playing around. One year Ban is much easier than it could have been. Brianna did take responsiblity, well, somewhat.
