This interview was originally shot for Facebook. During the interview, the wifi connection had issues, so we only had 2 minutes of a planned five minutes ( I switched to an audio interview, which I will post this weekend).

Elaine Thompson is very colorful, thoughtul and enjoying her new found success. As the double gold medalist from Rio, Elaine will be a very popular figure around the world.
In my audio conversation with Elaine, I was struck about how new all of this success and interest is to her. Poised and thoughtful, Elaine told RunBlogRun that she treasured both the 100 meters and 200 meters. In the 100 meters, she was quite concerned how her hamstring would feel. In the 100 meters semi-final, when Elaine blasted away, her confidence was renewed. Ms. Thompson told Runblogrun that when she saw pictures of her after the 100 meter final, she had this big smile. She really enjoyed that.
In speaking on the 200 meters, Elaine noted that Dafne Schippers had the upper hand in the 200 meters. Again, the semi-final was the turning point. And we all know how that race turned out.
Elaine Thompson will be racing the 60 meters in the Muller Indoor Grand Prix Birmingham on Saturday, February 18, 2017.
