Perez wins 60 m in Metz
METZ (FRA, Feb 12): Yunier Perez clocked 6.61 to win the 60m at the Meeting Elite en Salle de Metz ahead of D’Angelo Cherry (6.62) and Christophe Lemaitre 6.64 (6.63 in heat) while double Olympic fourth-placer Marie-Josee Ta Lou won the women’s 60m in 7.17 from Jura Levy (7.30). Floria Guei clocked a fast 51.99 to win the 400m from Olympic finalist Olha Zemlyak (52.09) while Morocco’s Malika Akkaoui won a good quality 800m in 2:00.91 from Ukrainians Olha Lyakhova (2:00.92) and Anastasiya Tkachuk (2:01.57). USA’s Dondre Echols won a close 60m hurdles in 7.66 from Simon Krauss (7.68) and Wilhem Belocian (7.68) while Belgium’s Anna Zagre won the women’s 60m hurdles in 7.98 from Ukraine’s Hanna Plotitsyna (8.02). Ukraine’s Maryna Kylypko cleared an indoor PB of 4.55m to win the pole vault while Alexis Copello won the triple jump with 16.69m from Benjamin Compaore (16.46m). Morhad Amdouni won the 3000m in a fast 7:44.55 ahead of Ethiopia’s Mekonnen Gebremedhin (7:44.95) and Azerbaijan’s Hayle Ibrahimov (7:48.39).
