Brenda Martinez has now been part of two of the finest DMRs ever run by U.S. women. In 2015, she caught the Central Park TC, and both broke the AR. In 2017, her 2:01.4 did her part with her team mates Emma Coburn (1200m, 3:18.50), Sydney McLaughlin, (400m in 52.34), Brenda (800m, 2:01.4) and Jenny Simpson (1600m, 4:27.77) ran a WR 10:40.31.
Brenda Martinez had a tragic collision in the Olympic Trials 800 meters in 2016, but came back and made the team at 1,500 meters. She is a tough racer from 800 meters to 5000 meters. This interview was done after the WR, and in the craziness of a media area where everyone wants to do a video, and have a story done now. Brenda Martinez always carries herself well, and is looking to race well in London 2017.
Special thanks to Brenda Martinez for her patience and The Shoe Addicts for their production, filming and chronicling of our sport for RunBlogRun.
