Tom Carleo is having the time of his life. With the product at New Balance dialed in, and a team globally that understands that, in performance running, product comes first, Tom is overseeing a running brand that is at the top of its game.

Carleo is the VP of Global Running at New Balance. We spoke with Tom at the NYRR RunCenter opening on January 11. Carleo is opinionated, articulate and quick-witted. He is also devoted to his brand, which just signed a decade long deal with the New York City Marathon and the New York Road Runners.
Just before our interview with Tom Carleo, we spoke with CEO Rob De Martini. Mr. De Martini noted that New York was the media capital of the world, and, in most circustance, a global running center as well. That is part of the importance of New Balance gaining a decade long series of programs with the New York Road Runners. Companies have sponsored the NYC Marathon, but none of those companies have reached out to sponsor nearly all programs under the NYRR umbrella. (Updated February 6, 2017).
Carleo spoke of the importance of the RunHub. Tom sees the store inside the NYRR RunCenter as a great running lab for the most important running city on the planet.
Special thanks to Tom Carleo for his time and to Mary Lawton, for her attention to detail.
