Sydney McLaughlin is one of the most talented young athletes I have ever seen. I put her in the Candace Hill class.
One keen observer last night asked me if I knew who the next Usain Bolt would be? I was curious, so I took the bait. “Who?”. “You saw her. The next Usain Bolt is Sydney McLaughlin.”
Watching Syndey run 52.32 for 400 meters was fascinating. Watching her get passed at the beginning of lap 2 and then retake the lead was more impressive. Having seen McLauglin race at Olympic Trials and Rio, I have been impressed with her racing savvy and her strength.

How fast can Sydney McLaughlin go? I believe she can run mid 52 point for the intermediate hurdles this year.
We will just have to wait for that. Right now, enjoy the one minute instagram interview I did post race!
