Jenny Simpson ran 4:27.66 for 1600 meters to anchor the US all star team in the DMR at the 2017 New Balance Indoor Grand Prix on Saturday, January 28, 2017.
I caught up with Jenny right after her race. Simpson is quite popular in the track world and she took pictures galore with fans young and older.

This was a short interview segment we took with Jenny as she spoke to our friends at Letsrun.com and Race Results Weekly on the team work part of the DMR.
Jenny Simpson kept herself in control. She knew where she was the whole race, and with 200 meters to go, she ran a 32 second fast 200 meters for the final furlong. That put the team two seconds below the World Record.
Jenny Simpson has won gold in 2011 World Champs, silver in 2013 World Champs and bronze in the Rio Olympic 1500 meters.
She would like to medal in London 2017. The great story would be if she won gold in 2017, after her tough 2012 race in London with several of the qualifying runners testing positive.
