WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 11, 2017
Opening of B.A.A. Distance Medley Registration | 10:00 a.m.
Registration opens for the three-race series, which includes the B.A.A. 5K on April 15, the B.A.A. 10K on June 25, and the B.A.A. Half Marathon on October 8, will be held entirely online at www.baa.org. Registration is limited to the first 3,300 runners, and will be first-come first serve until the limit is reached.
WEDNESDAY, JANUARY 18, 2017
Opening of 2017 B.A.A. 5K Registration | 10:00 a.m.
The B.A.A. 5K will be run on April 15, two days before the 2017 Boston Marathon, and will have a field size limit of 10,000 entrants. The start and finish of the B.A.A. 5K is located on Charles Street adjacent to Boston Common and the Boston Public Garden. Registration will be held entirely online at www.baa.org.

A press conference highlighting notable attendees and themes of the 2017 Boston Marathon will be hosted by the B.A.A. at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. Details will be distributed in the coming months.
FRIDAY, APRIL 14
John Hancock Elite Athlete Press Conference | 10:00 a.m.
The John Hancock Elite Athlete Press Conference featuring professional athletes racing the 2017 Boston Marathon will be held at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. Among the notable entrants for the 121st Boston Marathon include six champions, multiple Olympic and World Championships medalists, and winners of Abbott World Marathon Majors races.
B.A.A. Press Conference | 2:30 p.m.
A press conference highlighting the invited field for the 2017 B.A.A. 5K and B.A.A. Invitational Mile will be held at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel. Details will be distributed in the coming months.
SATURDAY, APRIL 15
2017 B.A.A. 5K | 9:30 a.m.
A field of 10,000 participants will kick off Boston Marathon weekend in style by racing the ninth annual B.A.A. 5K. The B.A.A. 5K takes participants on a scenic, flat, and fast course winding through Back Bay and across the Boston Marathon finish line before culminating on Charles Street between Boston Common and the Boston Public Garden. An elite field of world-class professional athletes will contend for the B.A.A. 5K title.
2017 B.A.A. Invitational Mile | 12:00 p.m.
Following the B.A.A. 5K, some of the world’s fastest runners will compete in the B.A.A. Invitational Mile on Boylston Street at Copley Square Park. In addition, middle school and high school runners from the eight cities and towns along the Marathon route will participate in 1,000 meter and one-mile races, respectively.
2017 B.A.A. Relay Challenge | 2:00 p.m.
The 21st annual B.A.A. Relay Challenge will feature youth athletes from approximately 20 Greater Boston schools competing in relay races on Boylston Street. An annual Boston Marathon weekend tradition, the B.A.A. Relay Challenge is the culmination of Club 121, a running program that introduces the benefits of running and active lifestyles to youths.
SUNDAY, APRIL 16 (Easter Sunday)
2017 Boston Marathon Pre-Race Dinner | 4:30 p.m.
Runners from across the country and around the world will unite at Boston’s City Hall Plaza for the 2017 Boston Marathon Pre-Race Dinner. Participants will fuel up on delicious foods and experience the camaraderie and high energy of this pre-race celebration.
MONDAY, APRIL 17
121st Boston Marathon
A field of 30,000 will participate in the 121st Boston Marathon, covering 26.2 miles from Hopkinton to Boston. The world’s oldest continually run marathon, the Boston Marathon brings together community spirit and the pursuit of athletic excellence on Patriots’ Day each year.

The B.A.A. Half Marathon, presented by Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and the Jimmy Fund, is the third and final event of the 2017 B.A.A. Distance Medley. The B.A.A. Half Marathon is run on a picturesque course that showcases the Emerald Necklace park system, Arnold Arboretum, Jamaicaway, and Franklin Park Zoo before finishing on the White Stadium track within Franklin Park.
