UTRECHT (NED): World 200 m champion Dafne Schippers will miss the entirety of the indoor season, informs Atletiek.nl. “After a long and intense season in 2016, we have decided to put emphasis on training work so I can prepare myself for the outdoor season,” she said. Schippers won the European indoor 60m title in 2015 and the world indoor silver medal last year.

At that level, very little separates gold, silver, bronze and 4th place. Schippers and her team believe that a break from racing will allow her to focus on London 2017. The young European sprinter has much pressure on her, and she has huge amounts of drive and desire to be the best in the world.
