Bolt to open at Cayman meet
GRAND CAYMAN (CAY): Jamaican sprinting star Usain Bolt will open his season at the Cayman Invitational on 14 May where he will contest the 100m, informs Track Alerts. “I am pleased to announce that I will be competing in the 100m at the Cayman International T&F meeting on May 14. It will be my first international competition in 2016 and my second time to run in Cayman. I always enjoy competing in the Caribbean and look forward to meeting my fans in Cayman,” he said. The other confirmed meets Bolt has for the moment are the Racers Grand Prix in Kingston on June 11 and the London IAAF Diamond League on July 22. In-between he will compete at Jamaican Olympic Trials. The meet has also attracted Allyson Felix, although she hasn’t confirmed which event she will contest yet. Other big names in action includes Carmelita Jeter, Kemar Bailey-Cole, Machel Cedenio, Natasha Morrison, Jenna Prandini and Zharnell Hughes. The women’s 400m hurdles will have World Championships fourth place finisher, Janieve Russell and American Kori Carter.
