PALO ALTO: Early World leaders at Stanford Invitational first day include Kenyans Leonard Korir 27:58.65 in the 10 000 m with Hillary Bor 8:30.70 steeple, South African Dominique Scott 15:25.10 in the 5000 m and Laura Thweatt 31:52.94 PB in the women 10 000 m. Also to note that another Kenyan Shadrack Kipchirchich clocked sub 28 (27:58.91) ahead of Scott Fauble 28:00.43 huge PB and Luis Fernando Ostos from Peru 28:03.42 national record with debuting German Fernandez 5th 28:06.64. In women 5k second Ireland´s Mary Cullen 15:26.53 and third New Zealand´s Kim Smith 15:32.77 in her first track race since 2013. Kenyan Alphine Bolton dipped also sub 32 in women 10k 31:54.20 PB and Tara Welling third 32:02.80 PB. Also fourth Beth Potter 32:03.45 life-time best and fifth Ireland´s European CC Champion Fionnuala McCormack 32:05.08. In other events Paul Chelimo won the 5000 m 13:36.63 and 400 m hurdles specialist Dalilah Muhammad 52.64 PB in flat race.
