HERZOGENAURACH (GER): Provisional entry-lists have been released for the inaugural Adidas Boost Athletic Meeting in the Adidas HQ of Herzogenaurach on 13–14 May. Some of the standout names in action include Yohan Blake and Tori Bowie in the 100m while Warren Weir goes head-to-head with Alonso Edward in the 200m. World champion Almaz Ayana goes in the 5000m along with world silver medallist Senbere Teferi while Meseret Defar will be looking to qualify for the Ethiopian team for Rio in the 10,000m. Nixon Chepseba and Collins Cheboi are the leading names in the men’s 1500m while the 10,000m features Ethiopians Muktar Edris, Tamirat Tola and Guye Adola and Kenyans Vincent Chepkok and Emmanuel Kipsang. Also in the 400 m US runners Tony McQuay and David Verburg, on the women side Jessica Beard. In the 800 m World Youth champion 2015 Willy Tarbei. Ugandan Willie Nanyondo is in the women 800 m.
Larry Eder responds: Mike McMannus, adidas Sports Marketing, told us that the goal of the adidas BOOST meeting is to give athletes a chance to run fast early in the season, without the need of having to go to North America.
