PHILADELPHIA (USA): Star sprinter Justin Gatlin admitted he was slowed down in his preparation by an injury at the end of last year. “I had an ankle injury in November, where I severely rolled my ankle and it’s been a really tough Fall training season for me. Mentally getting myself ready but also physically, it’s been a challenge for me as well. Me also being the veteran, especially within my training group, it was kind of tough for me to be in the back training while everyone was running past me. To be able to come out and run 9.90 the first race out, being here at Penn is really going to help me get ready for the next races,” he said before his relay outing on Saturday at the Penn Relays.
